Thank you so much for doing this!!! (Sorry for the delay in getting this letter up.) I like pretty much every type of vid so I’m excited to see what you come up with! For most of these fandoms, I’m mostly interested in gen/ensemble vids or character studies rather than any specific ships. In terms of music, I’m a fan of hip-hop, especially Midwestern hip-hop like Dessa and Doomtree. But really, I don’t care about the genre of the music if it fits the subject matter well.

Attack the BlockThis movie has a really cool understated sci-fi concept and I love its aesthetic. There's a cool political angle there too! Moses is easily my favorite character, he's so stoic and determined and loves his gang and his block so much. I don't want to say much more because I'll be open to pretty much anything you do with this movie!
HamiltonThis is pretty much my top fandom right now. I love this show, I love the music, the history (revolution!), the politics (immigrants: they get the job done!), the characters (Hamilton, Eliza, Angelica, Laurens, but really just all of them), the cast (LMM, Renee, Daveed), every ship. But, I feel kind of awkward for requesting it because I’d rather not get a vid made from a bootleg, which leaves maybe 20 minutes of footage floating around on the internet to work with. Feel free to use any other sources that are available--historical documents, behind-the-scenes, whatever you can find! Alternatively, I would welcome an RPF-type thing focusing on the cast and production. (But no RPF shipping please!)
Janelle Monae vidoesSeveral directions you could go here: Janelle Monae is so cool IRL and something focusing on her politics and activism would be awesome. Equally awesome is the whole Cindi Mayweather sci-fi concept she has created, and her use of sci-fi in general.
Les Mis DallasNormally when it comes to Les Mis I’m mostly a fan of Eponine and Les Amis, but this in this production I’m all about Fantine, Cosette, and Marius. And Jean Valjean. And Eponine. Something focusing on classism/criminalizing poverty could be really cool, but I would love something focusing on the characters and their (platonic/familial) relationships as well. I’m okay with the use of a bootleg for this one (
here’s a link) but also feel free to broaden the topic--do Les Mis more generally (although I’m not a fan of the movie and I prefer versions with nonwhite characters), or use other sources if that’s more your style.
Step UpThese movies are so, so terrible and I love them so much. I’m gonna reiterate here that I’m not interested in specific ships, but I really enjoy all the team-building/found family and of course the ridiculous over-the-top dancing. I’m really just looking for something cute and fun here, nothing too serious.
Ocean’s ElevenAgain, this is just a really fun fandom. Teamwork! Heists! I do ship Danny/Rusty pretty hard, so this is the one fandom where I’d be happy to get a shippy vid, but I’d also really enjoy gen.
Willow and Jaden SmithI added this one on a whim, so I don’t have much to say about it, but these are some really cool kids who are made fun of way too much. I just want a celebration of their weird awesomeness.
