Festivids 2015: Say Her Name

Fandom: RPF - Black Lives Matter
Music: Hell You Talmbout (Say Their Names)
Janelle Monáe and Wondaland Records
Summary: A tribute to the Black Lives Matter movement.
Warnings:
References to murder and police brutality.
Length: 5:15
Streaming:
password: blm

Notes: I really wasn't planning to make this vid--as a white person without a particularly strong connection to the movement I am incredibly underqualified to comment. But the amount of negative coverage of BLM out there is really upsetting, and I thought I could at least help tip the scale slightly in the other direction. Whenever possible the clips used are of protests relating to the person whose name is being said. The historical footage used during the Emmett Till section shows Civil Rights Movement protests and marches which occurred after his murder, but not as a direct response to it. Again, I am very open to criticism. Please let me know if I did something wrong!

I'm finally making my way through this year's Festivids (better late than never, right?), and I just wanted to say that you did an amazing job on this vid.
